Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, or UVGI uses shortwave UVC energy for germicidal irradiation. We utilize UVGI light at a spectrum of 253.7 nanometers, as other wavelengths are prone to producing ozone. Our UVGI technology achieves effectiveness from a holistic perspective. We combine multiple high-wattage bulbs, reflective panelling and proper circulation time, what we call the three pillars of UVC.
Three Pillars of Our UVC Technology
INTENSITY
Pathogens and harmful bacteria may circulate back into the environment if the UVC intensity is not sufficient. We combat this in several ways: by increasing the number of bulbs, increasing the wattage of each bulb, ensuring that the air is in close proximity to the UVC bulbs and having reflective material throughout the unit.
PROXIMITY
It is essential to have multiple bulbs throughout the unit’s interior which perform at highly intense wattages. This accomplishes the dual goal of providing proper UVC intensity and ensuring the space between bulbs isn’t so large that the light loses its required intensity.
DWELL TIME
All contaminants must have continuous and cyclical exposure to the UVC bulbs for the process to be effective, referred to as dwell time. Our designs ensure that the air is not circulated too quickly or too slowly, because this can disrupt flow and allow contaminants to pass through the unit.
Why is Blade's Air Sniper the best choice?
BAS Compatible
Blade's Air Sniper technology works with most Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS). No need to replace your existing HVAC controls or to add substantial hardware to your data center.
Minimal Installation Costs
Air Sniper Induct 300W units are equally simple to install in both new HVAC systems and existing system retrofit projects, minimizing overall time requirements and project costs when installing units across large organizations.
Years of Maintenance Free Service
Featuring a 55,200 hour (6+ years) lamp life of continuous use with absolutely zero maintenance, the Air Sniper 300W is a work-horse that minimizes ongoing facilities costs.
Reduces Airborne Pathogens
Blade's Air Sniper UVC technology has been proven numerous times under strict laboratory testing conditions to consistently, and effectively reduce airborne pathogens when passing through an Air Sniper unit. Test results listed below.

Ease of Integration

The Induct 300W can be easily integrated into new or existing facility HVAC designs. Due to the operating temperature of the Induct 300W (-20°C to +100°C), it can be installed on the return, supply, or makeup air. The Induct 300W is a quick and cost effective installation, and provides a long-term solution with no maintenance required!
